Join us for a remarkable night of musical mastery and raw energy from three exceptional musicians - Joshua Batten (VIC), Chris Finnen (SA) & Tim Frears (SA).
6.30 - 7.30pm Joshua Batten
Melbourne based Roots Rocker Joshua Batten is a performer with a rare ability to truly connect with his audience. With passionate vocals, accomplished guitar playing, layered arrangements and inspirational lyrics, Joshua displays a depth well beyond his years. His songs explore authentic reflections of his most introspective moments, humbly offered up as common and universal experiences.
7.50 - 8.50pm Chris Finnen
Chris Finnen is our own iconic South Australian Master of Blues. Chris has performed around the world, sharing stages with some of the world’s finest musicians.
Over four decades travelling as a troubadour journey man has seen Chris Finnen often referred to as the guitarist's guitarist'. Chris brings a wry twist to his original blues song writing, adding sly humour to lyrics, focusing on the musing of everyday experiences, and embracing a strong sense of community. His restless musical curiosity has seen him embrace a tapestry of varied cultural influences, weaving the sounds of India, Celtic traditions, and African nations into his music.
1995 saw Chris inducted into the SAMIA Hall of Fame, 2013 into the New York Blues Hall of Fame & 2014 SA Music Collective Hall of Fame. Chris’s book "Finnenisms" written by David Sly was released in 2024.
9.10 - 10.10pm Finnen, Batten & Frears
A special collaborative set featuring Chris Finnen, Joshua Batten joined by multi-instrumentalist Tim Frears (The Honey Badgers). This will be a powerful finale where three remarkable musicians converge on a single stage.
