Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, traditional music instructor, and storyteller Mitch Reed was born in Bayou Vista, Louisiana, and raised in Lafayette by musicians and storytellers from Mamou. Mitch has toured and performed with Cajun greats such as Dewey Balfa, Marc Savoy, and DL Menard, and recently retired from 11 years on the road with BeauSoleil Avec Michael Doucet to bring up his children in Maine. Since then he has continued passing on the unwritten tradition of Cajun fiddling and storytelling while exploring the connections between the musical traditions of Acadia and Acadiana.
Now living in Southern Maine, Mitch has teamed up with button-box master Jim Joseph of Ti-Acadie and Jimmy Jo & the Jumbol-Ayahs and singer/guitarist Robert Sylvain of the Acadian Aces and Boréal Tordu, forming a power trio that delivers classic cajun two-steps and waltzes, raucous creole stomps, and electrifying zydeco dance numbers that can bring even the most stoic New Englanders to their feet.
Lenny's is a restaurant and live music space serving up sensibly sourced, home-style food along side some of Maine's (and beyond) best roots music performers in a beautifully hand-crafted, cozy room - creating one of Southern Maine's most unique Dining & Entertainment experiences.
