Joseph Akins Bio

Dr. Joseph Akins is an award-winning pianist, composer, and educator whose music blends elements of jazz, pop, and new age. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, he began performing at age twelve and has since released multiple solo albums, including Dream World, which was named Album of the Year by Whisperings Solo Piano Radio in 2021. In addition to his performance career, Joseph is a professor of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University, where he shares his passion for music and production with the next generation.
