Utorkový večer bude 21. júla 2026 venovaný súčasnej elektroakustickej experimentálnej hudbe, v znamení ambientu, dronu a sakrálneho minimalizmu!
Podujatie Jori Josiphson: Eia Mater! prináša návštevníkom a milovníkom meditatívnej, experimentálnej hudby jedinečnú možnosť zahĺbiť sa do nevšednej kombinácie zvukov inštrumentálnych nástrojov – organu, akordeónu aj klavíra. Tieto akustické nástroje doplní elektronika, čím autor dosiahne symbiózu elektronického a akustického zvuku... a nájde tak určitý balans. Medzi elektronikou a zvukom akustických nástrojov. Medzi svetským a duchovným. Výsledkom tohto hľadania bude rozsiahla elektroakustická sakrálna zvuková maľba, zobrazujúca abstraktný portrét nehy a intelektu... ako aj podobizeň Božskej osoby Ducha svätého a jeho súcitu. Autor kompozíciu odohrá sám.

O skladbách
Na jednej strane môže skladba Eia Mater! (Ó, Matka!) svojou témou pripomínať (na prvý pohľad) omšovú skladbu. Nemá však klasickú liturgickú štruktúru. Ide o sedemčasťovú meditáciu alebo modlitbu, a to v rondovej forme. Na druhej strane treba priznať, že Jori Josiphson koncipuje toto dielo ako feministické. Témou je práve žena, ktorej postavenie v cirkvi a v spoločnosti je mnohokrát zaznávané. Autor, skladateľ a súčasne interpret chce svojou kompozíciou vzdať hold ženám a matkám.
Pre Josiphsona sú inšpiráciou významné ženy, ktoré boli v minulosti spoločnosťou zaznávané, podceňované, hanené alebo opovrhované. Práve ich silný príbeh vyvolal v autorovi akýsi hnev. Dôvodom pre tento hnev bola historická nespravodlivosť. Josiphson sa pre napísanie skladby inšpiroval najmä príbehmi troch žien – osudom Márie Magdalény, Johanky z Arku a Hypatie z Alexandrie. Kompozíciou chce vyzdvihnúť ich intelekt, vytrvalosť a trpezlivosť, ako aj prejavy empatie, nehy a súcitu.
Večerný koncert obohatí aj krátka skladba, s názvom TEBE (pre organ a elektroniku), ktorú Jori Josiphson napísal na základe predlohy 288. skladby z Jednotného katolíckeho spevníka – Tebe žijem, Ježiš môj.
O autorovi
Jori Josiphson žije v Bratislave. Tento tvorca novej, experimentálnej hudby pôsobí v Slovenskom rozhlase ako hudobný dramaturg pre literárno-dramatickú tvorbu, zároveň ako hudobný redaktor v Rádiu Devín. Jeho kompozície sa vyznačujú minimalistickou a dronovou atmosférou. Ich nosnou ideou je ponáranie sa do hlbín vlastného poznania... s cieľom vnímať spiritualitu a krásu sveta, dať bokom svoje „ja“ a nájsť pokoru. Pôvodne čisto akustická hudba je obohatená o elektroniku, pričom sa Josiphson venuje symbióze elektronického a akustického zvuku. Jeho výskum je založený na hľadaní určitého balansu, ktorý si elektroakustická hudba vyžaduje.

The evening of Tuesday (July 21, 2026) will be dedicated to contemporary electroacoustic experimental music, featuring ambient, drone, and sacred minimalism!
The event Jori Josiphson: Eia Mater! offers visitors and lovers of meditative, experimental music a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in an extraordinary combination of sounds from acoustic instruments—the organ, accordion, and piano. These acoustic instruments will be complemented by electronics, allowing the composer to achieve a symbiosis of electronic and acoustic sound... and thus find a certain balance. Between electronics and the sound of acoustic instruments. Between the secular and the spiritual. The result of this quest will be an expansive electroacoustic sacred soundscape, depicting an abstract portrait of tenderness and intellect... as well as a likeness of the Divine Person of the Holy Spirit and His compassion. The composer will perform the compositions himself.

About music
On the one hand, the composition Eia Mater! (O Mother!) may, at first glance, resemble a Mass setting in its theme. However, it does not have a classical liturgical structure. It is a seven-part meditation or prayer in rondo form. On the other hand, it must be admitted that Jori Josiphson conceives this work as feminist. The theme is precisely that of women, whose status in the church and in society is often disparaged. The author, composer, and performer seeks to pay tribute to women and mothers through his composition.
For Josiphson, the inspiration comes from significant women who were ignored, underestimated, reviled, or despised by society in the past. It was precisely their powerful stories that evoked a kind of anger in the author. The reason for this anger was historical injustice. While writing the composition, Josiphson was inspired primarily by the stories of three women—the fates of Mary Magdalene, Joan of Arc, and Hypatia of Alexandria. Through his composition, he aims to highlight their intellect, perseverance, and patience, as well as their displays of empathy, tenderness, and compassion.
The evening concert will also feature a short piece titled TEBE [For You] (for organ and electronics), which Jori Josiphson composed based on the 288th piece from the Slovak Unified Catholic Hymnal, called Tebe žijem, Ježiš môj [I live for you, my Jesus].
About the Author
Jori Josiphson lives in Bratislava. He works at Slovak Radio as a music editor for radio plays, as well as a music editor at Radio Devín. Compositions of this creator of new, experimental music are characterized by a minimalist and drone-like atmosphere. Their central idea is to immerse into the depths of one’s own consciousness… with the aim of perceiving the spirituality and beauty of the world, setting aside one’s “self,” and finding humility. Originally purely acoustic, his music is enriched with electronics, as Josiphson explores the symbiosis of electronic and acoustic sound. His research is based on finding the specific balance that electroacoustic music requires.
