From his love of the cello's tone to his passion for exploring new sounds and improvisational collaborations, his shows invite audiences to inquire the soul with a bit of bounce and groove.
Bio: Jordan Hamilton is a boundary-breaking cellist, songwriter, and vocalist whose eclectic fusion of hip-hop, soul, R&B, and classical music defies categorization. Based in Kalamazoo, Michigan—halfway between Detroit and Chicago—Hamilton began his artistic journey producing and composing music that challenges the conventions of traditional cello playing. His innovative approach showcases how the cello can play chords, layer melodies, and seamlessly integrate into film scores, hip-hop, and pop songs.
His latest release, Project Freedom, via Mello Music Group, invites listeners into a sonic realm reflecting his evolution as both an artist and storyteller. The project explores themes of home, dreams, losses, and love, with lyricism rooted in introspection and personal growth.
