Jonathan Nelson, a native of Fairhope, Alabama has worked in professional sports since 1993. During that time he worked with the Birmingham Bulls hockey team, spent four incredible seasons with the Birmingham Barons before moving onto Detroit, Michigan where he worked a season at Tiger Stadium with the Detroit Tigers. He returned in 1998 to the Barons where he served as Assistant General Manager until August, 2004 then was promoted to General Manager. Serving as President and General Manager of the Barons for over 20 years, Nelson managed the daily operations and was named the Jimmy Bragan Executive of the Year in 2009, 2013 and 2016. Nelson and his family reside in Vestavia Hills.America’s Pastime in Alabama
