About this Event

Domaine la Bouïssiere is one of the few estates to produce wines from the three appellations located in this magnificent corner of France's southern Rhône Valley: Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise.

Domaine La Bouissière, founded by Antonin Faravel in the 1970s, is one of the few Gigondas producers working exclusively from high‑altitude vineyards (around 350–400 m) beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail limestone cliffs. These cool, rocky sites yield grapes with better acidity, balance, and structure.

These wines are perfect for Thanksgiving!

The Evening's Wine Selections
2022 Domaine La Bouïssière Gigondas La Font de Tonin

One of the estate's most prestigious wines, the 2022 La Font de Tonin is a powerful yet beautifully balanced Gigondas made from approximately 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre. Its old vines grow between 985 and 1,640 feet above sea level on steep slopes of broken limestone and underlying clay. Hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, generally in September or early October, the grapes are fermented in whole clusters and aged in oak barrels. This exceptional wine delivers expressive aromas of fresh raspberries, cherries, jasmine, and warm spice, followed by rich red fruit, hints of licorice, silky tannins, and a remarkably long, elegant finish.

2024 Domaine La Bouïssière Gigondas

The 2024 Gigondas is a beautifully structured Southern Rhône red showcasing the winery's signature combination of richness, freshness, and elegance. Traditionally Grenache-dominant with Syrah, this wine comes from old vines growing on steep limestone scree and clay-rich slopes beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail, approximately 985 to 1,640 feet above sea level. The grapes are hand-harvested in the autumn, generally during September or early October, and fermented with a portion of whole clusters before aging without new oak. Rich aromas of blackberries, blue plums, and delicate pepper lead to concentrated dark fruit flavors, lively acidity, beautifully textured tannins, and a long, vibrant finish.

2023 Domaine La Bouïssière Côtes du Rhône Rouge

This inviting Southern Rhône red blends 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah, offering wonderful character and everyday elegance. The grapes come from approximately 30-year-old vines growing at around 1,050 feet above sea level in clay and limestone soils near Beaumes-de-Venise. Harvested by hand when fully ripe, typically during September, the grapes are mostly destemmed, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in traditional concrete tanks to preserve their natural freshness. Aromas of ripe blackberries, dark raspberries, and wild Provençal herbs lead to flavors of juicy black fruit, gentle baking spices, and a touch of smoke, finishing with smooth tannins and appealing freshness.

OUR HOST FOR THE EVENING: Maéva Gauci

We are especially excited to welcome Maéva Gauci, the talented third-generation winemaker helping lead Domaine La Bouïssière into an exciting new chapter. The granddaughter of founder Antonin Faravel, Maéva studied winemaking in Burgundy and gained valuable experience working with respected Burgundy producer Christian Clerget before returning to her family's estate in 2023. In 2025, she officially succeeded her uncle Gilles Faravel as co-manager, joining her uncle Thierry in carrying forward the family's winemaking legacy. Maéva brings a fresh perspective to the winery, emphasizing biodiversity, precision, and the natural elegance of the estate's remarkable mountain vineyards. Her visit to Nashville offers guests a wonderful opportunity to hear firsthand about the family's history, discover the secrets behind its celebrated wines, and meet the next generation shaping the future of this exceptional French winery
