All reenactments are FREE for 2026!!! #America250Join the Revolution! Come see what life was like in Revolutionary Vermont with musket firings, open-fire cooking, and artisan craft demonstrations with a Revolutionary War reenactment group. You can even join the militia and train to be a soldier!
Plus our normal museum offerings add to the fun: 18th-century toys, lawn games, costume corner, exhibits, videos and tours of the historic Allen House (c.1785), the Abenaki Village, and Fanny's Garden.
Special programming (muskets & more!) will be 11am-2pm, and the museum is open 10am-4pm both Saturday & Sunday. Sunday at 2pm is our Free Monthly Lecture; the May lecture is about William Marsh, who was both a Vermont patriot-turned-redcoat and who used to own the Ethan Allen Homestead lands. (These lands were confiscated from him by the State of Vermont when he joined the British Army!).
