Honoring Working Dogs During National Dog Week with SFO Wag Brigade
About this Event
SFO Museum and the SFO Wag Brigade are excited to bring together SFO’s working-dog teams for a special National Dog Week event. This program is inspired by Retrieved, an SFO Museum exhibition by Charlotte Dumas featuring search and rescue dogs who served in the aftermath of September 11, 2001. It includes a curator-led tour of the exhibition and a presentation by an SFO K-9 team about the work their dogs perform, how they are trained, and what it takes for a dog and handler to work together in the active environment of an airport. SFO Wag Brigade teams will also join us, highlighting another kind of working relationship between people and dogs at SFO—one that supports the passenger experience through moments of connection and comfort throughout the terminals. We hope you’ll join us for this special SFO Museum and SFO Wag Brigade event as we honor the dogs featured in Retrieved, recognize the extraordinary work they performed, and celebrate the many ways dogs continue to work alongside us at SFO today.
