Forever Grateful, Golden Gate Park
About this Event
The Grateful Dead didn't become who they were through spectacle. They became themselves through listening — to each other, to the audience, to something that moved through all of them and couldn't be named. That's not nostalgia. That's a teaching. Forever Grateful is built to transmit that practice.
The full journey includes:
- Psychedelic Communication Network to listen to, and share, personal stories
- Resonance Circle and Listening Wall
- Liquid Light Show
- Wavy Gravy Collection Display
- Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters' original Furthur bus and Jerry Garcia's BMW - on display to the public for the first time ever!
- Ofrenda
- Makers Space for Crafting and Live Art Wall
- Unexpected visual surprises, including puppetry to performers that recall the wonder of a Grateful Dead show itself - and much more!
Forever Grateful, Golden Gate Park is proudly presented by Haight Street Art Center, the second and culminating chapter of a two-part tribute to the enduring legacy of the Grateful Dead. The exhibit features immersive theater from Third Rail Projects, Lance Gordon of Mad Alchemy’s Analog Liquid Light Show, and overall experience design from Brian Scharf of Brave Design.
