About this Event
Pulse N Pause Coffee is a San Francisco–based micro roastery with a focus on showcasing Chinese specialty coffee as one of our signature offerings. With roots in Yunnan, our goal is to introduce more coffee drinkers and industry professionals to the producers, terroir, processing innovation, and extraordinary flavors emerging from China’s most important coffee-growing region.
For this event, we’re bringing together 30 exceptional Yunnan microlots for one comprehensive cupping:

This tasting is designed to show just how diverse Yunnan coffee can be. Side by side, we’ll explore everything from clean, delicate washed coffees and tea-like florals to ripe tropical fruit, wine-like complexity, and bold experimental fermentations.
Why Yunnan?
Yunnan has long been celebrated for its extraordinary teas, but a new generation of farmers, producers, and processors is pushing the region’s coffee in exciting new directions. High-elevation growing environments, distinctive varieties, improving quality standards, and increasingly sophisticated fermentation techniques are creating coffees that challenge expectations of what Chinese coffee can taste like.
This cupping is an opportunity to experience that evolution through the cup—and to discover Yunnan not as a curiosity, but as an emerging specialty coffee origin with its own identity.
