The CW Great American Road Ralley will premiere Sept. 2 with host Ian Ziering, Beverley Hills 90210, documenting Rut 66 and celebrating Icons of pop culture including John Schneider, Bo Duke The Dukes of Hazard.
The series will be running when we welcome John Schneider back to Covington Nov. 6 and 7 at The OHCO District. John put Covington, GA on the map with the premiere of The Dukes of Hazard January 26 1979. The iconic General Lee and the Jumps around Covington and Oxford College forever changed pop culture and our wonderful community!!
I remember watching the filming on the square at my Dad’s shop ,Newton Fabric Outlet, where Scoops is currently located. Who remembers John Schneider day and ran in the fun run on the square??
John and his team have two scheduled events at OHCO District and are selling tickets thru Etix for these dates.
OHCO district is calling on all General Lee’s to caravan to Covington, Ga this weekend to celebrate our town and thank John for his contribution. We will have a festival style atmosphere that families, kids and grandkids can enjoy and walk right across the old tracks where the first jump took place on Elm St. and the current parking deck off the square. OHCO district is just a short 10 min walk from the site so you can choose to park at either location. There will be a $10 charge to park at OHCO so utilize the free parking at the parking deck and walk or bike to OHCO.
We will have more details to follow and get your tix to secure the meet and greet Friday Night and the concert Saturday night. Tix will not be required to enjoy the festival so everyone is invited. Let’s celebrate John and thank him for all of his contributions!!
