John Prine’s music and stories have inspired fans and songwriters for decades ever since he released his first self-titled album in 1971. The album included some of his lifelong classics - Paradise, Angel from Montgomery, Hello In There, Illegal Smile, and Sam Stone. Over these two evenings, a group of local musicians, Keith Carpenter, Lynne Givler, Geof Morgan, Julian Smedley, and Tara Caldwell will weave well-known and lesser-known songs together to create an arc of John Prine’s songwriting career. The evening will be sprinkled with stories he told, how he has inspired us, and the legacy that left us singing his songs.
Come join us and share a musical journey and sing along with a community of John Prine fans.
