This is a big one! A Living Legend, three-time Grammy Nominee, and Blues Music Award Winner for Best Traditional Blues Artist, John Primer is bringing his Real Deal Band from Chicago on Friday May 31st to Retro Live. Opening act is local blues band, Zip City! This is going to be a historic show! John Primer is the sound and style of Chicago blues as we know it today, full tilt urban electric blues. He was the bandleader and guitarist for Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and Magic Slim & The Teardrops and has played or recorded with everyone including Junior Wells, Gary Clark Jr., Derek Trucks, Johnny Winter and The Rolling Stones.
Show is on Friday May 31st at Retro Live, where we turn this place into a Chicago juke joint with high top tables, chairs, dance floor, wrap around balcony and lots of space. Doors open at 7PM and show starts at 730pm. Tickets will be 20 in advance and 25dollars at the door.
