Historians, Dr. Steven Woodworth and Dr. Donald Frazier will delve into the historical significance of 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘣𝘺𝘦 𝘛𝘰 𝘈 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 by John Graves, examining its profound influence on Texas literature and the lasting legacy of Graves’ storytelling.
Reception immediately follows at Celebration Hall.
𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘣𝘺𝘦 𝘛𝘰 𝘈 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 won the Carr P. Collins Award in 1961 and was nominated for a National Book Award.
𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘣𝘺𝘦 𝘛𝘰 𝘈 𝘙𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳 is a book about a canoe trip Graves took down the Brazos River in 1957. The book was published in 1960 and was immediately well-received. It was praised for its original style and is considered a classic American work.
