His notable appearances include major festivals such as the Atlanta Blues and Bluegrass Fest, Leek Blues & Americana Festival UK, Abber Jazz & Blues Fest Wales UK, and Garden & Gun Festival. His expanding repertoire of prestigious venues spans from the historic Coister Ballroom at Sea Island GA, where he opened for The Steep Canyon Rangers, to the elegant Boston Library Courtyard as part of the City of Boston Summer Concert Series.Equally adept with the acoustic Hawaiian lap steel guitar and Dobro, fans hear haunting, subtle hints of Delta bluesmen Son House and Blind Willie Johnson, but John Emil ultimately creates a unique style all his own by integrating country blues, folk and bluegrass sounds into his repertoire.
