The John Doe Trio are one of the UK’s most exciting home-grown blues acts, bringing a powerful, no-nonsense sound that’s earned them a strong reputation across the live circuit. Hailing from Kent, the band combine tight musicianship with real energy on stage, described by Blues in Britain as “a seriously good, tight-knit power trio of excellent musicians.”Since the release of their debut album Stranger in 2016, the trio have continued to build momentum. Their 2020 follow-up Railroaded pushed things further, picking up critical acclaim and industry recognition, while their latest release JD III has cemented their place as one of the UK’s standout blues bands, drawing rave reviews and strong chart success.
Influenced by legends like Muddy Waters, B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughan, their sound blends traditional blues with touches of rock, jazz and skiffle. Expect driving rhythms, standout guitar work, and a live show full of character — including the unmistakable sound of a cigar box guitar.
