John Bates Presents: Birds of Northern Lakes, Rivers, and Wetlands
Advertisement
A host of birds regale our northern waters with their songs and fly-bys. The Northwoods of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan supports the highest number of nesting bird species of any region north of Mexico – in fact, it’s hard to find a better place to watch birds! The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, for instance, provides nesting habitat for at least 175 bird species.
From marsh hawks to marsh wrens, kingbirds to kingfishers, and common loons to uncommon terns, we’ll look at the most notable of the birds one might see on any given waterway, get a feel for their personality, and show you in what habitat to look for them.
