Following the strong reception of Jiyu’s second album, Totem of Quiet Mystic (2023) the band have earned support from a wide range of iconic international jazz DJ’s including Patrick Forge & Chris Coco as well as praises from outlets such as Jazzwise, Enlace Funk and The Chillout Tent.
The singles to this new album, has immediately been embraced—drawing glowing reactions and airplay from dj’s like Dj Vadim, Phil Cooper, David Patterson, Curtis Colin & Enrique Domenech, to name just a few.
Across the new albums eight tracks, elastic basslines, jazz-dub-soul—tinted drums and percussion, Wurlitzer and jazz- guitar glow and flute-swept atmospheres drift between grounded groove and open-sky improvisation, while guest vocalist Mai Lan Doky adds dreamlike textures on Cumulus & the Subterranean. From the shuffled broken-beat pulse of Smell of Fire to the slow-burn haze of Deep Woods, Wild Things is a rich analogue- soul excursion—earthy, exploratory and tuned to the outer frequencies.

All-Dayer is a jazz vinyl session for body and mind. Expect to hear jazz, soul, afro, latin, fusion and much more. On this thursday night the All-Dayer DJ crew supports Jiyu’s release concert, but you can also find them every first sunday of the month in H15 Studio at Halmtorvet, which has Copenhagen's first audiophile in-house sound system. The love of music brought Irishman Fergus Murphy and Scotsman Brian Williamson together in Copenhagen. With this as the foundation it wasn’t long before they discovered their mutual love for the all day Sunday party, popular around the world but some how missing from the Copenhagen music scene.
