Two longtime fixtures of the American roots music scene, Jimmy Smith and Trisha Gene Brady, are teaming up for an acoustic double bill at Slim's Last Chance in Seattle, with an opening set from Matthew David Lindley.
Jimmy Smith is a founding member, singer, and songwriter of Austin's legendary alt-country band The Gourds. Over more than two decades, the band developed a devoted following with its distinctive mix of country, folk, rock, and Texas eccentricity. While perhaps best known for their unlikely cover of Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice," The Gourds built their reputation on great original songs and memorable live performances. Jimmy continues to write, record, and perform his own music.
Trisha Gene Brady spent years as the lead vocalist of Knoxville's acclaimed Americana band The Black Lillies, touring extensively and performing on stages ranging from intimate clubs to the Grand Ole Opry. Her solo work draws on country, soul, and roots music, showcasing both her powerful voice and her songwriting.
Matthew David Lindley will open the afternoon with a set of his own, kicking off a Sunday lineup of acoustic music and songwriting.
Join us for an afternoon featuring three artists with distinct voices and deep roots in American music.
