about the book
Music. Some people consider it the universal language, understood and loved in every culture by young and old, and across social barriers. But how music is able to have such an impact has long been a mystery...which is why Jim Farfaglia, a music aficionado, set out to learn about its profound influence, listening to one song and its story at a time. With testimonies from those who've felt a song's importance, the author weaves personal memoirs into a more universal truth: music’s power to change our life. Mountains Valley Rivers is the first in a series of books that explores the gift of our songs’ stories.
about the author
Jim Farfaglia grew into his love of writing after many interesting life experiences: camp counselor and director, school teacher, traveling deejay, lifecoach. While pursuing those careers, Jim figured out what he wanted and needed by writing. In his previous books, he has focused his writing on local history, using stories from those in and around his hometown in Central New York who’ve lived the topics of his books: surviving blizzard snowstorms, working in a chocolate factory, founding a search & rescue team. With his One Song-One Story project and Mountains, Valleys, Rivers Jim heads out into the bigger world to hear the stories that inspire his writing.
