Notable guitarist extraordinaire Jim Campilongo will perform with master drummer Scott Amendola and powerhouse bassist Angeline Saris for an exciting evening of instrumental music.
Jim Campilongo - Guitar
Billboard Magazine called Jim Campilongo "an American treasure," an accolade which this guitarist's artistry and influential career has richly earned him. TimeOutNYC described Campilongo perfectly: ”New York has no shortage of guitar heroes but few cover as many bases, as Jim Campilongo reveals a range that extends from seductive country-swing to atmospheric jazz and well beyond,” and the New Yorker said, "There it was again: the stinging treble, the spooky overtones, the strings snapping and booming under his hands, the sound of a Tele being played as skillfully and exuberantly as it can be played.”
Scott Amendola - Drums/percussion/electronics
For Scott Amendola, the drum kit isn’t so much an instrument as a musical portal. An ambitious composer, savvy bandleader and capaciously creative foil for some of the world’s most inventive musicians, Amendola applies his rhythmic virtuosity to a vast array of settings. His closest musical associates include guitarists Nels Cline, Jim Campilongo, Jeff Parker, and Charlie Hunter, Hammond B-3 organist Wil Blades, violinists Regina Carter and Jenny Scheinman, and clarinetist Ben Goldberg; players who have each forged a singular path within and beyond the realm of jazz.
Angeline Saris - Bass
Angeline Saris is a powerhouse bassist, songwriter, and educator whose genre-defying career has taken her from festival stages to collaborations with some of music’s most legendary artists. She has toured with Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Todd Rundgren, Adrian Belew, and Ernest Ranglin, and recorded and toured with Grammy Award-winning producer and drummer Narada Michael Walden. She recently appeared on Carlos Santana’s Sentien album, performed with Jay Lane (Dead & Co.), and played with JGB organist Melvin Seals. Featured in Bass Player Magazine, Guitar Girl, and on the covers of Bass Musician and Bass Quarterly, Angeline has also taught internationally at the Warwick Bass Camp in Germany and the National Guitar Workshop.
