Jillian Burton : Pretty Girl Club part II
Constructed through an intuitive layering process, gelliplate prints are transferred onto delicate tissue paper then layered to create a surface that feels lived in.
Built through a cycle of construction and destruction, the women on these canvases mirror the process used to create them. Built up, torn down, buried, scrapped and pieced back together again, nothing is truly erased in this process. All decisions linger. The layers embody every version of self they have ever been. Every choice, every memory and every small transformation is still present, shining through the cracks.
