Hello Hikers!
For this adventure, I'm taking you to William Heise County Park ($5.00 parking fee), just outside the town of Julian. On this beautiful mountain top hike (4,200 feet), one will be able to get out of the busyness of day-to-day life and get lost in the "Sounds of the Mountain." When conversation ceases, all that can be heard is the wind blowing through the trees and the singing of birds. On this hike, I will take you through forests of oak, pine, and cedar that are surrounded by a peaceful mountain meadow. Mule deer and wild turkey are frequently seen throughout the park and soaring high above are red tailed hawks, ospreys, and ravens.
After the hike, we'll drive the one mile into the town of Julian, which is an old gold mining town, but today is famous for their juicy apples and delicious pie!

Directions: From the junction of Highway 79 & Pine Hills Road (1 mile west of the town of Julian), head 2 miles south on Pine Hills Rd. to Frisius Rd., then head east for 2 miles.
