Jest Improv's After School Improv Program Introductory Workshop!

JEST Improv's After School Comedy Program is here to bring the joy of improv comedy to the youth of Ventura County during the school year!

Are you looking for a safe and friendly environment for your child to express themselves on stage?
Join us in our After School Improv Comedy program for kids in Ventura County!

This will be a great environment for young people who are looking to explore their comedic voice/comedy acting and/or looking to spend their school year laughing and creating with new friends. This program is structured for ages 8-17.​
Program participants will explore the fundamentals of improv as taught by the JEST Improv Comedy School and continue to develop skills like creative thinking, self-confidence, listening, getting out of your head, team building, empathy, handling anxiety and communication, all while having loads of fun! They’re introduced to basic improv games, the art of creating a story as a group and creating fun characters on stage.​
There will be a free workshop on August 27th to introduce improv comedy to the students and help parents to learn everything about how the program works.
After the August 27th workshop the students will rehearse and practice together every Thursday at the Bunker Theater from 4-6 pm.
There will be a student showcase in October and December!
There will be auditions for those who would like to join the program on October 27th 2026 and January of 2027. More auditions will be scheduled throughout 2027.
