Rebel Folks & Punks Unite! Both proud and excited to announce that My Druthers is going to be sharing the stage with two of our favorite guitar-hammering rebel troubadours at 33 Golden St in New London, CT on Friday, June 14th.Boston’s Jesse Ahern is on fire, currently touring Europe & the UK after dropping his newest hit-riddled collection of working class anthems, “Roots Rock Rebel.” Recently released on Dropkick Murphys own Dummy Luck record label, Jesse is fresh off world tours with both DKM & the Rumjacks and has also shared stages with the likes of Rancid, the Interrupters, Chuck Ragan, & Frank Turner. He calls to my mind the spirit and songs of Springsteen & Guthrie. Don’t sleep on this one folks, dude ain’t no joke.
Local legend Mark Leonard helped pave the way for the modern folk punk movement over 20 years ago when he took to the roads & rails with his version of anarcho-punk rock ballads and fight songs. BTW this is an earlier show y’all, Mark is gonna be going on right at 8 so let’s neither dilly nor dally on this one. See you in the pints!
