About this Event
Join us for an intimate evening of modern jazz as pianist Jeremy Siskind and trumpeter Yakiv Tsvietinskyi come together at The Sanctuary Studio.
This pairing brings together two highly regarded musicians whose work reflects both technical mastery and a thoughtful approach to improvisation. Jeremy Siskind is known internationally for his imaginative piano playing as well as his influential contributions to jazz education. A frequent finalist and winner of major jazz piano competitions, Siskind’s musical life spans performance, recording, composition, and teaching, with a style that balances clarity, harmonic sophistication, and rhythmic freedom.
Yakiv Tsvietinskyi is a leading voice of the contemporary Ukrainian jazz scene. A Fulbright scholar and graduate of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz Performance, Yakiv’s playing blends modern jazz language with elements of European modernism and Ukrainian folk influence. As a performer and composer, he is recognized for his strong sense of form, melodic focus, and responsiveness in collaborative settings.
In a duo format, piano and trumpet interact with maximum openness and flexibility. The music will feature original compositions alongside reimagined jazz repertoire, shaped in real time through improvisation, close listening, and mutual exchange. The Sanctuary Studio’s intimate setting offers a rare opportunity to experience this kind of musical conversation up close, where detail, balance, and interplay are at the center.
This performance is ideal for listeners interested in contemporary jazz, improvisation, and the refined art of small-ensemble interaction.
