Please join us at the historic Presidio Chapel in San Francisco for Jenny Reeder's presentation: "Emma and Eliza: The First Two Elect Ladies."
Jenny Reeder is a nineteenth-century women's history specialist at the Church History Department in Salt Lake City. She has a PhD from George Mason University in American history, women's religious history, and memory and material culture. She has published a devotional biography of Emma Smith: First: The Life and Faith of Emma Smith with Deseret Book, and co-edited with Janiece Johnson, Witness of Women: Firsthand Experiences and Testimonies of Latter-day Saint Women, also with Deseret Book. Jenny co-edited with Kate Holbrook At the Pulpit: 185 Years of Discourses by Latter-day Saint Women with the Church Historian's Press, and has led the team compiling, editing, and writing the discourses of Eliza R. Snow, Rise Up and Speak: The Discourses of Eliza R. Snow, coming out in March 2026 with the Church Historian's Press.
