The Jenn Neil Group performs the featured artist set at the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop. The group - led by vocalist Jennifer Neil and guitarist Jim Scully are joined by their son - Aidan Scully on drums for a set of originals and standards from the vocal jazz catalog.Tunes made famous by Annie Ross, Joni Mitchell, Art Blakey, Nat King Cole and others.
Joining the Scully/Neil clan is bassist Daniel White, alto saxophonist Miguel Melendrez, tenor saxophonist John Calo, and trombonists Shane Diaz. The septet will be premiering all new arrangements of these tunes by Scully...
Of particular importance are two tunes composed by Scully and Neil - Disintegration and Arthur's Lament.
