Když Joe Andrews a Tom Halstead vydali v roce 2012 svoji první nahrávku jako Moin na splitu s Petem Swansonem, bylo možné počin vnímat jako vedlejší postpunkový projekt jejich industriálně dubových Raime.
Britská elektronická scéna soustředěná mj. okolo labelu Blackest Ever Black, který působil mezi lety 2010 a 2019, intenzivně čerpala inspiraci z postpunku osmdesátých let a Moin představovali rub tohoto přístupu se svým kytarovým zvukem následujícím postupy elektronické hudby. Charakter Moin jako vedlejšího projektu se změnil nejpozději v roce 2021, kdy duo doplnila bubenice Valentina Magalleti. Jako trio vydali v roce 2024 už třetí album You Never End.
Současnou éru Moin provází inspirační posun od postpunkových osmdesátek k posthardcoru let devadesátých, reprezentovaným kapelami jako Slint či Unwound. Moin nepracují s doslovně emotivními texty ani katarzní gradací, ale za doprovodu samplů či hostujících vokalistů (Coby Sey, James K, Sophia Al Maria, Olan Monk) nabízí subtilně budovaný trans. Žánrové vymezení zde funguje jen poněkud volně, ale pokud si jím chceme vypomoci, Moin hrají dospělý posthardcore, který místo toho, aby se zavřel do žánrového skanzenu, poslouchal posledních patnáct let industriální techno a dub.
Desku You Never End zahlédnete v nejednom letošním výročním žebříčku, spatřit Moin naživo je o poznání větší výzvou. V Česku se představili poprvé při legendárním vystoupení v neratovském kostele na festivalu Jednota Neratov, pražskou premiéru kolaborace Jednoty a MeetFactory přinese 25. února 2025.

A/C je projekt pražské hudebnice Anny Černíkové, která je členkou platformy GOB GOB. Dle vlastní charakterizace „míchá prvky triphopu, post-rocku a folku do atmosférické přeháňky. Noční procházky městem s hypnotickými beaty a syrovým vokálem,“ s tím lze jistě souhlasit a je nutné dodat, že to dělá velmi zdařile a s nemalou dávkou suverenity. A v poslední době se Anně konečně dostává i zvýšené mediální pozornosti. Její tvorba v lecčem připomene PJ Harvey v její výrazně introvertní a experimentální poloze (zhruba kolem alba Is This Desire?). Dočkáte se pokaždé trochu jiných aranží, ale hlavně netuctových písní, které ve vás zanechají úžas a chuť se k nim vracet.

When Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead released their first recording as Moin in 2012 on a split with Pete Swanson, they could be perceived as a post-punk side project to their industrial dub outfit, Raime.
The British electronic scene, shaped in part around the Blackest Ever Black label (2010-2019), drew heavily from the post-punk of the 1980s, and Moin represented the flip side of this approach with their guitar sounds following electronic music techniques.
The character of Moin as a side project changed by 2021 at the latest, when drummer Valentina Magaletti joined the duo. In the new formation, they released their third studio album You Never End in 2024.
The current era of Moin is marked by a shift in sound and inspiration from the 1980s post-punk to the 1990s post-hardcore, represented by bands like Slint and Unwound. Moin do not offer overtly emotional vocals or cathartic climaxes, but instead, through vocal samples or guest vocalists (Coby Sey, James K, Sophia Al Maria, Olan Monk), they subtly build trance.
Genre boundaries are somewhat loosely defined here, but if we must use them, Moin play mature post-hardcore that - rather than confining itself - has been listening to industrial techno and dub for the past fifteen years.
While You Never End appears on many year-end lists, seeing Moin live is a rare chance. In the Czech Republic, they were first seen during their legendary performance at the Neratov church as part of the Jednota Neratov festival. Their Prague debut will be brought to you by the cooperation of Jednota and MeetFactory on 25 February 2025.

A/C is a music project by Anna Černíková, a Czech musician and member of the GOB GOB platform. According to her own description, she “mixes elements of trip-hop, post-rock, and folk into an atmospheric downpour—night walks through the city with hypnotic beats and raw vocals.” This is certainly accurate, and it’s worth noting that she achieves this with great success and a remarkable sense of confidence. Recently, Anna has been receiving well-deserved increased media attention. Her work is reminiscent of PJ Harvey in her more introspective and experimental phase (around the album Is This Desire?). You can expect unique songs with slightly varied arrangements, leaving you amazed and eager to revisit them time and again.
