About this Event
Step into the exciting world of engineering at the JCU Maker Space Open Day! Whether you’re a student curious about what an engineering degree has to offer, a local manufacturer interested in innovation, or a family looking for a fun, hands-on activity—this event is for you.
Our Makerspace is a hub of creativity and technology, and during this hour-long session, you'll get the chance to:
- Explore a range of engineering projects: From a 3D printed, moving Iron Man mask to a fully functional 4-cylinder car engine model, rubik's cube solver, and even AR experiences using Microsoft HoloLens.
- Learn about cutting-edge technology: See 3D printers, PCB milling machines, laser cutters, and PLC sorting stations in action, and discover how these technologies are applied in engineering and manufacturing.
- Engage with interactive demonstrations: Play with robotics, augmented reality, and other engineering innovations to get a firsthand feel of the possibilities in modern engineering.
Whether you’re considering a career in engineering, a parent or student interested in STEM, or a local manufacturer looking to connect and collaborate, this Open Day will have something for you.
