We’re celebrating the 35th anniversary of JazzJam@Smederij — three and a half decades of unforgettable sessions, bold improvisation, and a vibrant jazz community. And this milestone deserves something special.
On stage for the main concert:
Tim Langedijk – guitar
A lyrical and versatile voice in Dutch jazz, Tim Langedijk is known for his warm tone and sophisticated harmonic approach. Over the years, he has performed and recorded with artists such as Benjamin Herman, Ack van Rooyen, and Jesse van Ruller. His playing moves effortlessly between straight-ahead swing and modern jazz, always expressive, always storytelling.
Paul Berner – bass
American-born bassist Paul Berner has been a pillar of the European jazz scene for decades. With a rich, resonant sound and impeccable timing, he has worked with jazz legends including Lee Konitz, Art Farmer, and Benny Golson. His melodic bass lines and deep groove provide both foundation and inspiration within every ensemble.
Michael Vatcher – drums
Originally from the U.S. and long based in Europe, Michael Vatcher is internationally respected for his dynamic and interactive drumming. He has collaborated with musicians such as Ernst Reijseger, Wolter Wierbos, and Ab Baars, navigating both mainstream and adventurous jazz worlds with ease. His playing is energetic, sensitive, and full of color.
And the celebration doesn’t stop there…
🔥 The third set will be a jam session, keeping the true JazzJam spirit alive — featuring young talent RICARDO RAMOS on drums. A rising force behind the kit Ricardo brings fresh energy, creativity, and fearless drive to the stage. A perfect bridge between 35 years of history and the future of jazz.
