Celebration of Soul is a tribute to R&B's most influential voices, including Donny Hathaway, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles and Marvin Gaye, all delivered by acclaimed singer and multi-hyphenate artist Robert Ball. Praised by BroadwayWorld for having “a voice that’s smooth as silk,” Ball brings depth, elegance, and emotional honesty to Hathaway’s timeless repertoire.

Known for his work on stage in productions such as Evita, Joseph, Chicago, Songs for a New World, and Treemonisha, Ball also appeared as the principal character Arthur in the film Christmas on 5th Ave and was featured in the Stratford Festival’s streaming cabaret series Canadian Mix-Tape and Up Close & Musical.

A respected vocal coach, mentor, and recipient of the inaugural Black Shoulders Award, Ball’s artistry is rooted in both excellence and advocacy. In this concert, he honours Donny Hathaway’s legacy with passion, nuance, and deep musical reverence.
