Jazz Weekend Workshop with Paul Edis and Nel Begley

A weekend of listening and playing, for both vocalists and instrumentalists, in the company of others who want to learn and improve their jazz skills.
Back by popular demand, we are running another weekend of jazz workshops at The Globe – this time led by tutors Paul Edis and Nel Begley. The 2-days of workshops will focus on developing improvisation, giving you the tools and frameworks to explore melodic and rhythmic ideas in a variety of different styles.
The workshops will include:
* Learning a range of tunes (by ear and using sheet music).
* Active listening to give us context and explore the history of Jazz.
* Playing together in small ensembles with chances to try out short (or longer if you prefer!) improvised solos, receiving bespoke feedback and expert advice.
* A short performance at the end of the weekend to demonstrate your new skills and repertoire to each other.
