About Megumi Yonezawa:
Megumi Yonezawa is a pianist and composer from Hokkaido, Japan. She began classical piano studies at age six and later graduated from Berklee College of Music, majoring in Performance and Jazz Composition. After moving to New York, she became the regular pianist for saxophonist Greg Osby, performing at renowned venues like the Village Vanguard and Carnegie Hall, and major festivals including Montreal and North Sea Jazz Festivals. Yonezawa has recorded with artists such as Nicholas Payton and Joan Osborne, and her debut album as a leader, A Result of the Colors, received critical acclaim. Her recent projects include the albums Boundary and Resonance, showcasing her distinctive blend of jazz and contemporary classical influences.
About John Hébert:
John Hébert is a highly respected bassist from New Orleans, Louisiana. He studied double bass with Bill Huntington and earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance from William Paterson University. Since moving to New York in 1995, Hébert has become a sought-after collaborator, performing with jazz legends like Andrew Hill, Lee Konitz, Paul Bley, and Maria Schneider. As a bandleader, his projects such as Byzantine Monkey and Rambling Confessions have garnered critical praise, with his recordings receiving high marks in Downbeat magazine. Hébert is recognized for his versatility, melodic strength, and contributions to both traditional and avant-garde jazz scenes
