The Bellevue Jazz & Blues Music Series welcomes headliner Jazz Overhaul.
JAZZ OVERHAUL is a jazz quartet that reimagines the music of Seattle’s iconic grunge era through the lens of modern jazz. With creative arrangements of songs by Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and other influential artists from the past 30 years, the group transforms familiar rock anthems into fresh, jazz-driven interpretations; fully “overhauled” with groove, improvisation, and soul.
The band features Cliff Colón on saxophone, Jake Sele on keyboards, Osama Afifi on bass, and D’Vonne Lewis on drums; four accomplished musicians with deep roots in the Pacific Northwest music scene. In 2024, Jazz Overhaul was named NW Alternative Jazz Group of the Year, a recognition of their unique sound and powerful live performances.
Their debut album, Filthy, is out now on vinyl, CD, and digital download. Paying tribute to the gritty spirit of Seattle’s grunge legacy, the album bridges the raw energy of the ‘90s with the expressive depth of jazz. This isn’t your typical jazz band. This is JAZZ OVERHAUL.
