Ryan Devlin is a saxophonist, woodwind educator, and arts administrator from Orlando, Florida. He began his musical journey under the guidance of his father, Scott Devlin, leader of the Walt Disney World Sax Quartet.
Growing up in a home filled with music, Ryan was immersed in an environment of teaching, practicing, performing, and listening from an early age. After studying piano for three years, he began playing the saxophone at age nine and quickly developed a passion for the instrument.
Ryan earned a Master of Music degree in Jazz Performance from the New England Conservatory in Boston in 2023, where he studied with renowned saxophonist Jerry Bergonzi. Since then, he has built a multifaceted career as a performer, educator, and producer. In 2026, he was appointed Executive Director of Jazz Lesson Videos, one of the leading online platforms for jazz education.
As a performer, Ryan is a member of the Dave Weckl–Tom Kennedy Project and is featured as a soloist on the group’s latest recording, The Summit. He has also performed as a featured soloist with acclaimed ensembles including the Grammy
Award-winning 8-Bit Big Band, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Orlando Jazz Orchestra.
Ryan continues to tour internationally as both a bandleader and sideman, performing at renowned venues including Smalls Jazz Club and Zinc Bar in New York City, Blue Note Milano, Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, Scullers Jazz Club in Boston, Judson’s Live in Orlando, The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar in Toronto, and Rudy’s Jazz Room in Nashville. His achievements include winning the 2017 Central Florida Jazz Society Scholarship Competition and earning runner-up honors in the 2017 Bob Washington Jazz Scholarship Competition.
Throughout his development, Ryan has studied with distinguished musicians including Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Alain Bradette, Lucas Pino, and Tedd Baker of the United States Air Force Band’s Airmen of Note. He has performed and recorded with notable artists such as Davis Whitfield Jr., Mike Bond, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Dave Weckl, Ravi Coltrane, Steve Kortyka, Dave Pollack, Gene Perla, Adam Nussbaum, Ulysses Owens Jr., and John Lumpkin.
