An evening of jazz, blues and Latin classics
Award-winning clarinettist and composer Julian Marc Stringle brings his exceptional musicianship to this special Jazz Night performance. Renowned for his rich tone, melodic style and technical brilliance, Julian performs a vibrant programme spanning jazz standards, blues favourites and Latin-inspired classics.
A multiple winner of the British Jazz Awards Best Clarinettist, Julian first gained national attention performing alongside the legendary Acker Bilk at just 14 years old. Since then, he has built an international reputation as one of the world’s leading jazz clarinettists, praised by Sir John Dankworth as “world class”.
Inspired by jazz greats such as Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw, Julian combines the tradition of classic jazz clarinet with a fresh contemporary style. From modern takes on standards like Sweet Georgia Brown to energetic Latin jazz and original compositions, this promises an evening of stylish and entertaining live music.
Julian’s versatility has also seen him collaborate with artists including Tina Turner, Meat Loaf and the Spice Girls.
