The Heart does double duty in our world: it represents the international symbol for love and is also the muscular organ vital to our cardiovascular system. Nobody really writes music about the anatomical aspect, but everybody seems to have a song in their heart (see what I did there?) about romantic feelings. jazzONE and the ISU Jazz Combos will play music with “heart” in the title, including selections made famous by Bill Evans, Nirvana, Duke Ellington, and the Clayton/Hamilton jazz orchestra.
