Jazz in the Mills 2025 Presents Tiya Adé

Join us on Sunday, September 14, 2025 for Jazz in the Mills featuring Tiya Adé at The Other Barn in Oakland Mills, Columbia, MD.

Tiya Adé has been a fixture on DC's music scene for decades, wowing audiences with her rich voice and electric performances.

Known professionally as Tiya!, she has mastered a variety of musical styles, including jazz, blues, gospel, and R&B. She can get funky with the best of them, belt out a bluesy tune, or emote a tender, romantic melody. Tiya's voice is a force to be reckoned with.

She has performed with illustrious bands and musicians throughout her career both in the U.S. and abroad. Tiya! has appeared with such luminaries as Cicely Tyson, Ruby Dee, Odetta, Pete Seeger, Nelson and Winnie Mandela, and Roberta Flack. She is also an accomplished arranger, songwriter, and producer.

A native Washingtonian, Tiya! is a lead vocalist with DC’s renowned band leader, Bobby Felder, and his various bands and orchestras. Until its closing in 2015, she was the resident vocalist for more than 15 years at the legendary Channel Inn Hotel, the famous watering hole for the District’s political and business elite.

She also sings, writes, and produces with “In Process . . ." — an African American women’s ensemble (see below).

She is currently the producer of Jazz@Wesley, a jazz series located in Chevy Chase, DC designed to support local jazz musicians and connect with the neighborhood.

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online and at The Other Barn.

Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. No outside food or beverages are allowed.

The concert venue, The Other Barn, is handicap accessible with the concert on the 2nd floor of the venue. We have a handicap lift for guests and a bathroom on the 2nd floor.
