AYJO & MONA KROGSTAD
Aalborg Youth Jazz Orchestra begins the year by presenting the Norwegian saxophonist and composer Mona Krogstad, who, together with the orchestra, explores new musical landscapes within the Nordic jazz tradition.
Mona Krogstad is educated from the Jazz program at NTNU in Trondheim and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and for more than ten years she has developed a personal and vibrant musical language.
Her music balances sensitivity and intensity, and her ability to create atmosphere makes her an ideal collaborator for the young and energetic big band. The collaboration with AYJO gives the orchestra’s young musicians a unique opportunity to explore and develop their artistic expression in close interaction with an experienced and passionate soloist.
