Jazz at the Library: Duke Ellington Sacred Music Concerts with Rick Helzer

JazzFresno, the Fresno County Public Library, KFSR 90.7 and the Woodward Park Friends of the Library will host Jazz at the Library on Tuesday, June 30 at 6:30 PM at the Woodward Park Regional Library, 944 E. Perrin Ave., Fresno, California.
Jazz Pianist, composer, and arranger Rick Helzer will have the honor and pleasure of presenting selections from Duke Ellington’s three “Sacred Music Concerts,” which he considered to be his most consequential works. With the “Sacred Music Concerts,” Duke powerfully and beautifully expressed his faith in God through his gift of music. Rick will be presenting this moving music with four of his good friends and marvelous musicians; Joyce Brewer (vocals), Mike Dana (guitar), John Lauffenburger (bass) and Gary Newmark (drums).
JazzFresno is funded in part by the City of Fresno Measure P Expanded Access to Arts and Culture Fund administered by the Fresno Arts Council.
