Join us for a family-friendly 5 km walk/run in honour of Jay Dearman, whose passion for firefighting and dedication to mentoring youth left a lasting impact on our community. This fundraiser supports youth firefighting initiatives and junior firefighter programming on Gabriola Island.
📅 Date: Sunday, June 21
🕚 Run Starts: 11:00 AM
📝 Registration Opens: 9:30 AM
🏃 Warm-Up Begins: 10:30 AM
📍 Location: Meet on the back apron at the fire hall.
Please park in the lower parking lot if you are able-bodied.(access of North RD)
This is a non-timed, family-friendly event open to all ages and abilities.
Last year’s Junior Firefighter Camp welcomed 18 youth aged 12–18 and was our most successful year yet. The program helps empower Gabriola youth through confidence-building, teamwork, leadership, and practical life-saving skills.

Charitable tax receipts will be issued by the Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department.
