It’s been 30 years since Jay and Silent Bob made their first appearance hanging out in front of the Qwik Stop – but they have stayed as funny and raunchy as ever! Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) is the writer, director, and producer of Clerks – the 1994 slacker comedy classic that kickstarted the View Askewniverse. Jason Mewes is best known for his role as the foul mouthed, hyper sexual but goofy stoner Jay. Jay and Silent Bob have been appearing in television, film, comic books (Bluntman and Chronic), and podcasts for 3 decades as a comedy duo.
About Kevin Smith:
Kevin Smith has been saying silly cinematic stuff since 1994’s Clerks. He almost dropped dead of a massive heart attack in 2018 but then lived to make more useless media that only he loves. 2024 marks the 30th year since the last time he had a real job. He also convinced someone to marry him and make him a Dad.
About Jason Mewes:
Perhaps best known as “Jay”, the foul-mouthed foil to hetero-lifemate “Silent Bob” in Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse, Jason Mewes has blossomed into a full-blown pop culture icon since his debut in 1994’s CLERKS! His character would become a sort of James Bond of the mid-90’s low budget film – a fast talking, over-sexed, but ultimately harmless and likable guy.
