About this Event

We’ve joined forces with powerhouses in the lung cancer community in order to equip you with knowledge and empowerment in the fight against lung cancer in the African American community. Join us for a groundbreaking interactive health advocacy training designed for those who are interested in learning about the risks or have been personally impacted by this disease. Early detection saves lives!

This is a special two-part free community health education program. Registration is required.

Join us for a dynamic policy panel featuring leading advocacy organizations, HEAL Collaborative, and manufacturers' representatives from the pharmaceutical industry to unpack the opportunities and challenges of Section 340B of the 1992 Public Health Service Act. Panelists will discuss how the 340B drug-pricing program can expand affordable access to lifesaving medications for underserved communities while ensuring sustainability for hospitals and community clinics across the city. The discussion will also have HIGHLIGHT real-world stories from Detroit residents, explored innovative collaborations between manufacturers and community partners, and surfaced actionable policy recommendations—ranging from enhanced transparency to stronger patient-centric safeguards—that aim to preserve the program’s intent and amplify its impact on health equity.
