7/31/25 - Jason “Gote” VanDeMaat presents “Pools of Sorrow, Waves of Joy” a celebration of John Lennon.
John Lennon wasn’t a perfect person. He lived a life of turmoil and controversy, but his music remains a pure testimony of an artist’s soul doing its best to be honest about the message his work portrayed to the world.
Rising to meteoric fame as a young man with The Beatles, Lennon along with his musical partner Paul wrote and recorded an unprecedented number of original songs during a time when it was virtually unheard of for a musical act to pen their own material.
During his solo career, Lennon used his star power to further the aims of the working class and for any and all who crave a world at peace as opposed to one in a constant cycle of war and grief.
He dared to imagine. We will raise a glass in his memory and celebrate his birthday with his music as the centerpiece. Hope to see you there!
