Jason Bales is one half of the songwriting duo behind Durham, NC Americana/rock and roll band The Yardarm. Prior to starting The Yardarm in 2017, he played in Lansing, MI twang-rockers Flatfoot with his brother Aaron before moving to NC in 2007.
With a voice that has been described as somewhere between Roy Orbison and Dwight Yoakam, Jason’s songwriting pulls from a wide variety of influences, such as Nick Drake, Townes Van Zandt, Leadbelly, Bob Dylan, and 1950s rock and roll.
