Join bestselling romance novelist Jasmine Guillory for an evening to benefit SF Bay Area Mutual Aid and Bookworms for Gaza!
About this Event

Best-selling romance novelist Jasmine Guillory will be in conversation with Lauren C. Johnson about Jasmine's recent novels at The Love Potion Library, a new woman-owned bookstore in The Castro.

Even better: this event is a fundraiser for families in crisis through SF Bay Area Mutual Aid and Bookworms for Gaza! The evening might be sultry, illuminating, and fun as hell, but it will most certainly benefit your neighbors.

Jasmine Guillory is the New York Times bestselling author of The Wedding Date, the Reese's Book Club selection The Proposal, and Flirting Lessons, among other novels. Her work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Cosmopolitan, Bon Appetit, and Time, and she is a frequent book contributor on The Today Show. It’s Only Dancing will be her first young adult debut. She lives in Oakland, California.

Lauren C. Johnson attributes her upbringing in Florida, America’s weirdest state, to her interest in the ecological and surreal. Her writing has appeared in The Rumpus, Orion Magazine online, and others. She is the interviews editor for The Racket Journal and is a member of The Ruby, a Bay Area collective for women and non-binary artists and creatives. She earned her MFA in creative writing at American University and lives in San Francisco, where she is a co-host of Babylon Salon, a quarterly Bay Area reading series, and Club Chicxulub, a sci-fi and fantasy performance series. Her debut novel, The West Façade, was recently published by the Santa Fe Writers Project (SFWP).

From SF to GZ is a joint fundraiser to support families in the San Francisco Bay Area and Gaza in meeting their basic needs. Funds to SF Bay Area Mutual Aid will be redistributed to neighbors on our waiting list, which is currently over 300 people. These funds are almost always used for rent or emergency housing for folks who have been displaced due to natural disasters, violence, gentrification, or other crises. The families in Gaza will be supported directly through Bookworms for Gaza, an ongoing fundraiser that redistributes funds to verified families and mutual aid orgs to enable them to pay for shelter, medical care, food, baby formula, and other necessities.

If you'd like to donate directly to the fundraiser to benefit both organizations, please visit our Chuffed page.
