Po ketverių metų pertraukos į Kauno širdį sugrįžta vienas įspūdingiausių japoniškų festivalių ritualų – Mikoshi nešimo ceremonija! Kviečiame visus vėl prisijungti prie šios išskirtinės patirties, pajusti bendruomeniškumo dvasią ir gyvai patirti autentišką Japonijos švenčių kultūrą. Tai yra vienas iš „Japonijos dienos Kaune WA“ festivalio renginių.
⛩️ Kas yra Mikoshi?
Mikoshi – tai nedidelė medinė nešiojama šintoistinė šventyklėlė, skirta laikinai „pernešti“ dievybę iš šventyklos į bendruomenę. Japonijoje tikima, kad dievybė, keliaudama gatvėmis, laimina žmones, neša sėkmę, darną ir gerovę. Todėl Mikoshi nešimas visuomet tampa energinga, džiugia ir visus suvienijančia švente.
✨ Ypatingi svečiai iš Japonijos
Šiais metais į Kauną specialiai atvyksta:
🔸 Nobuya Miyata – Mikoshi restauratorius ir šios tradicijos entuziastas, daugelį metų puoselėjantis japoniškų švenčių paveldą.
🔸 Kazuhiro Takebe – Okajamos prefektūroje esančios šventyklos Bizen no Kuni vyriausiasis šventikas, kuris surengs autentišką šintoistinį ritualą ir pakvies savo šventyklos dievybę laikinai apsigyventi Mikoshi šventyklėlėje Kaune.
RENGINIO PROGRAMA
12:00 val. renginį atidarys trumpas japoniškų taiko būgnų pasirodymas, kurį atliks Fukuyama miesto Hitotsubashi vidurinės mokyklos taiko bugnų klubas „Tsuzumi“.
12:15 val. šintoistinė ceremonija, kurios metu dievybė bus pakviesta apsigyventi Mikoshi šventyklėlėje.
12:30 preliminari Mikoshi eisenos pradžia.
Eisenos maršrutas drieksis Laisvės alėja iki pat Nepriklausomybės aikštės ir atgal į universitetą. Numatoma renginio pabaiga – apie 15:00 val.

MIKOSHI Returns to Kaunas!

After a four-year break, one of the most spectacular rituals of Japanese festivals is returning to the heart of Kaunas – the Mikoshi carrying ceremony! We invite everyone to join this unique experience once again, feel the spirit of community, and experience the authentic culture of Japanese festivals live. The event is part of the “Japan days in Kaunas WA” program.
⛩️ What is Mikoshi?
Mikoshi is a small portable wooden Shinto shrine used to temporarily “carry” a deity from the shrine into the community. In Japan, it is believed that as the deity travels through the streets, it blesses the people and brings luck, harmony, and prosperity. That is why carrying the Mikoshi always becomes an energetic, joyful, and unifying celebration for everyone.
✨ Special Guests from Japan
This year, special guests arriving in Kaunas are:
🔸 Nobuya Miyata – a Mikoshi craftsman and enthusiast of this tradition, who has dedicated many years to preserving the heritage of Japanese festivals.
🔸 Kazuhiro Takebe – the chief priest of the Bizen no Kuni shrine in Okayama Prefecture, who will conduct an authentic Shinto ritual and invite the deity of his shrine to temporarily reside in the Mikoshi shrine in Kaunas.
EVENT PROGRAM
At 12:00 PM, the event will open with a short Japanese taiko drum performance by the “Tsuzumi” Taiko Club of Hitotsubashi Junior High School from Fukuyama City.
At 12:15 PM, a Shinto ceremony will begin, during which the deity will be invited to reside in the Mikoshi shrine.
At 12:30 PM the start of the Mikoshi procession.
The Mikoshi procession route will run along Laisvės avenue to Independence Square and back to the university.
Estimated end of the event – around 3:00 PM

Carrying the Mikoshi is a community ritual that anyone can join. For those who wish to carry the Mikoshi:
• Bring a small towel to place on your shoulder
• Wear comfortable shoes
• Choose loose, comfortable clothing
• Avoid backpacks and large handbags
