January Zazenkai- Saskatoon
Schedule

UTC-06:00Location
Saskatoon Unitarians | Saskatoon, SK
Please join us for a one day intensive silent meditation retreat, or Zazenkai.
Komyo Seito will be joining us from Meadow Lake to lead the retreat. Komyo is an experienced, wonderfully compassionate, pragmatic and straightforward teacher. We are excited and privileged to have her lead us! More information on her lineage and experience is available further below.
Beginning at 9 am, the day will include several periods of zazen ( silent sitting meditation) and kinhin ( walking meditation) as well as Dharma interviews ( an opportunity to speak to Komyo about practice), Dharma Talks ( Komyo will give a talk about Buddhism/ Zen practice) , formal tea, chanting, and a provided lunch.
Zazenkai is open to experienced Zen practitioners and to newcomers as well.
Please note, however, that some newcomers to Zen may be surprised by the demanding schedule and structure of the day: all activities ( except dharma talk, dharma interviews and instructions) are done in silence.
Much of the day is spent silently sitting with one’s own experience, and this is not always easy!
That said, don’t be intimidated! Only be prepared for long periods of sitting, silence, and paying attention to what the day offers.
RSVP to Steven on Facebook, or text/call at 306 371 1775. Please include any dietary restrictions, questions, and let us know if you are able to attend the whole day. Please plan to show up early so as to be fully prepared to begin at 9 am. Schedule will be posted in the discussion.
Admission is by donation.
